Important! : Pulling hard to the right when braking.

  1. #1
Right as the story goes my friend bought a mk2 couple of weeks ago. sits very low at the front and we are assuming it has a spax springs and dampers.

How ever cutting a long story short, when he was changing the brakes the other day he managed to cross thread the caliper bolt back in. So off he went in search of a new strut. (its a mk2 vts by the way & its passenger side weve changed)

Got a new strut from a guy in coventry, could be on here as they said he had loads of saxo's which he was breaking?

We put the strut on last night and changed the spring over, but looking at the car it sits a little higher on the side weve changed, could this be due to the other strut having a different damper? But the biggest problem is when braking it is pulling to the right hard. Also we noticed aswel the back end is starting to lock up very easily causing it to swing round almost sideways.

Need help ASAP please. Anything to look for or check?

    Thanks

if the other side has a stiffer damper it would effect it? as the car would dip on the weaker side more....

if you know what i mean

yeah that is what i thought mate, but it is pulling to the right which is the side with the stiffest damper?

that damper is takin all the dip before the other one gets goin?
if you still have the other damper id put that back in...

would we able to transfer the spax damper into the new strut? :s how do we do it?

    Thanks

ye, the dampers are inside the struts, you need a big spanner.... really big to open the strut up then pull the damper out and put the new one in
