how much would it cost to have the two front wheel bearings changed on my x reg vtr and is it a big job if i was to do it my self
any answers appreciated.

hi,you will need a hydraulic press to press the old bearings out of the hub and the new bearings in,you could keep costs down by removing the hubs yourself and taking them to a garage and get them to press the old bearings out and the new bearings in for you,shouldn't take them much more than half an hour to do.

just smash the old bearings out being careful not to do the hub in aswell. and as above bring it to a garage to get it pushed in.

I have tried to smash em out before with a lump hammer and failed. carried the strut round the corner to local garage and they pressed it out for free. Might be the way to go unless yo get lucky

Mine were a pain on the front (harder to fit than the rear), i brought a bearing kit off ebay £15, and just paid the garage an hours labour to fit. cost about £50.
