1.1 to 1.6 vts 16v conversion HELP??

   Right decided going to vts 16v conversion on my 1.1, Ano it's a bit of a project but wanting to do it, what parts do I need to do this.would it be a good idea to get a recondioned engine?
   if someone could tell me what parts I need as I haven't a clue.
   how much would it cost roughly?

   16v it as after some time you will want more power...so might as well do it

   he might well want more power later, but if hes a relativly new driver at a guess insurance purposes wont allow the extra 8valves.

   im also looking at doing this. i have the engine ready and all other bits (driveshafts gearbox ect) how much would it be and who could do it because ive asked my local garage and they wont do it for some reason

   u need... engine, box, un locked ecu, and i think vtr drive shafts but u need the engine an ecu out of the same model cuz of the plugs on the loom! mk1 single plug, mk2 3 small plugs hope that helps

   Cheapest way to do it is get a complete vtr, buy one thats failed mot on rot or something like that, and start swapping parts then you have everything you need, also you can hear the vtr run and know everything works ok.

    I have a good Mk1 VTR engine but you will need other bits sourcing. Keep your box, shafts etc. I may swap for Saxo steering wheel boss and good after market wheel.

    iv done this and just go 16v mate just the same amount of hassle in the end and i regret it now
    
    you will need
    
    engine
    ecu (unlocked one)
    loom (will need spliceing to your car one)
    shafts (if 16v)
    brakes (whatever conversion)
    gearbox (can use 1.1 one)
    
    then while your doing it all the other bits for eg
    
    head set (all gaskets,head bolts etc)
    water pump
    cam belt kit
    clutch (again i lernt from my misteak with this and only did the bearing now gotta strip mine down again )
    all new bolts for things like:
    manifold,
    driveshafts,
    wish bones etc
    gear linkages
    all new filters
    oil both engine/gearbox
    
    its all these little bits people useually miss and what add up its cost me over 1k to do mine and thats with a mate in the trade aswell,and then its always best to have a bit put aside for teething issues like a sensor thats playing up or somthing like that etc
    
    mines still not right wish i had left it 1.1 tbh now never let me down onece
