#2Sounds like the gear linkage pin mate may have fell out whiles driving,causing you to not select your gears mate.
I had this problem just replaced it and was fine cost me about £11 user thanked this post: -

hi denno can you get a pic of this or some more info please i think this may be the problem with mine but not to sure. did you sometimes get problems selecting reverse, not all the time but occassionally? -

#7I had the same problem and it was the wee ball in the main linkage from the gearstick fell out, had it fixed in 2 mins

#9The linakge pins cost about 2 quid mate. Sounds likely, could be syncros maybe. But check linkages thats the usual cause.

#10mine does that aswell! but then it also whines like a bitch in 5th, sometimes worse than others, could that be somethin to do with it or dya reckon my gear box is on its way out?
