turbo or supercharger

going to be starting my froject soon but cant make up my mind wether to turbo or supercharge my vts . wat do you guys thing is the best thing to do , wich one will give more boost and wich one will put the power down best.
all advice will be much aprishiated

this question is getting very boring, every other day there is a thread on this hence you got a short answer. try searching next time and you'll find pages upon pages of threads saying 'turbo, supercharger or itb's'

anyway, as said;

turbo = more boost and more fun imo

supercharger = more linear power delivery which means it will be more gentle on transmission and will put the power down better.

as your other thread states, if you do have £6k to spend, go turbo - as im sure you'd see allot more power out of a turbo with that budget, and you can cruise around and instead of the whining you can go ppsssstt lol, turn peoples head's knowing its a turbo sax when your doing a run through the high street, not going flat out to let people know you have power.

im edging to the turbo side . just not sure as iv seen so many people start a turbo project and then scrap it . i was going to fit 206 180 lump at first but once id priced eveythin that id need it was in ecess of 10k . so think ill just go turbo vts and then with the money i have left ill build my super 1400 106 progress threads will be starting soon hopefully

A nice centrifugal supercharger will allow you to run the most boost with out destroying everything. They also have a very usable power delivery and so is great for the track.

Can someone give me the £6000 shopping list please and relate it to a power output??

Every thread someone says it costs £6k and I *literally* can't spend that much money...

Maybe I need a bigger imagination.

6k is just what iv put to one side for engine incase sumthing goes wrong while building. the last thing you want is to spend all your money and then sumthing brake. youd be quite pissed off . im actually only looking to spend about £4500 on turbo conversion. then i can spend the rest on a super 1400 106 i also want to build

wpmnah! this is an abbriviation on a local forum i use and it applys to soo many threads on saxp lol.

go charged, why would you need loads of power if you cant use it? unless the only reason you want big bhp so you can compare the size of your dick in mcgash's car park.

you dont need over 200bhp in a sub 1000kg car, it just doesnt work through the front wheels...(without spending stupid money)

the car isnt for road use mate it to put aganst my mates corsa turbo and cossi as he thinks a saxo/106 will never keep up . when iv beat his cars ill then go onto bigger things . the way i see it is that if youv got lots of power you can always tone it down a little but if youv not got it you cant use it . blower could still be the answer that what this is all about lol

this is the whole point of going s/c --you can use over 200 @ wheels very easily ,because of the way it is delivered ,even 250 @wheels is still usable on a twisty road or track.
if someone wants to do spme seaching on u-tube they will find in car footage from s/c cars on track ,but i have seen no convincing turbo footage --

It is not like turbo tuning you don,t just keep uping the boost --it is not the right way to do it.
you decie what bhp + at what rpm ,that will decide engine spec

ok always wanted around the 400 bhp wich is why i was looking a turbos as iv been told you can get the power much easyer . but now theres that meny people saying so many diffrent things it get you confused in wats wat . im now puzzled lol

Well, GMC is the people you need to speak to (posted abouve you) they will tell you what option's are to get that power, imo you can supercharge it which people say is smoother delivery of power (im guessing its distributed all over the revs) id personally go for turbo

i concur sir, if you look at the at-speed, on this forum i beleive one of their 106's are running mid 400's

it is acheivable, just takes allot of work and money (which i think none of us on here have as it goes on crisps and women

)

well i dont drink much i dont eat crisp and iv been wi my missis for 5 years now and i keep my money and she keeps hers . apart frop see somtimes nicks some of myne when the sax breaks down lol . but other than that ill have around 9k this year spare to spend on my car .

and im only sitting here saying this so you dont waste this money you have, if you have £9k to spend on a car why are you looking at saxos? buy an M3/evo/scoob and have 400 usuable bhp...

sorry to put it blunt, but thats why people are saying you won't do anything. If you do, good luck. but you'll need quite a bit more than 6k or even 9k for 400bhp especially if you don't do the work yourself.

For the prices of parts and ultimately, the cost of insurance ? I'd buy an Evo and spend the rest on a college course, something like a BTEC in grammar and spelling. But you can spell turbo properly which is quite a good start.

both turbo and supercharger will see good gains,
for turbo power of your proposed power check out atpower and dp engineering,

for charging look no other than gmc they will put you in the desired directions, and give you plenty of advice,
400bhp is possible with both, but at a lot of expense,
as the standard gearbox, shafts will last you no time at all.
good luck on this if your genuinly going for it.
