   Does any body know if the chassis is the same on a mk1 saxo and a mk2 saxo? more importantly, the front end chassis, i.e the front chassis arm and cross member .. cheers

   Think the chassis are the same its just the bumpers and stuff which are different

   The chassis itself is 100% identical on ALL Saxos regardless of model and year.
   
   The only thing that changes is of course simple bolted on items with the exception of the ecu side engine mount bracket being different between base model 1.0/1.1 and 1.4/vtr/vts bracket- again this is a spot welded on item that can be added to lesser models and not a change in the very base chassis itself
