   I've often seen people on here say that the upper is more for the looks, while the lower is far better for handling.

   upper is more for rallyin.... coming over big crests etc...

   the upper strut brace usually comes into its own when camber changes on the road. Certainly on back to back tests I've found better traction coming off roundabouts etc
   It might not be that noticeable but it certainly helps...

   You need to look at the brand. OMP, Sparco and others make ones suitable for competition, other companies make thin metalled ones for show.

    the racelands are quite thin. Certainly more for show
