Snapped handbrake :-(

  1. #1
    Hi guys,

so I just parked up n pulled the handbrake up and the wire has snapped as it's completely loose now and I'm having to leave it in gear when I park up,

anyone experienced this before? Know a quick fix/ generally how much does it cost to get someone out tofix it?

I can be in the Lowestoft, Peterborough or Nottingham area if anyone could help me at all? Lol

    Cheers guys!

Yeah you need a new hand brake cable, can take a few a hour to a couple hours depending on how seized parts are and how experience you are. A propper garage wouldn't charge much to fit a new cable tbh with you mate

    Two new cabels
Witch are £14.99 each from 106parts
Or £9.38 from euro car parts

If you do it your self it should take 1-2 hours tops
There is a few guys in nuneaton who can do iy for you

Yeah as above, It's a simple job to do yourself, should take about an hour if you work well It could just be the easyer cable lol

Mine went 'snap' a few weeks ago. It worked if I pulled it up really high for a couple of days but stopped working after that.

I took it to the garage and he said something about the adjuster had come loose? The cable was fine and he just put this thing back in - works fine now.

Have a look before you order a new cable to make sure it really has snapped!

Im guessing it's the same as that cos it kinda works when I pull it all the way up lol
