16v oil guage issue

   Basically. My Oil guage on startup shows I basically have little or no oil. However my dipstick shows I have plenty of oil.
   
   Is this a faulty sensor or something more serious?

   Is it the standard oil guage? Pretty sure that's oil temp, not level. (assuming it's the same for 106's as it is for saxo's)

   Do you mean the Guage that shows where the clock is on startup (this one shows the level) or the actual dial on the dash (shows oil temp)

   With the older gauges with analog mileage count, when you turn the ignition on the oil temp gauge shows the oil level. Then when you start the car, it shows oil temp.
   
   Possibly a faulty sensor aly, or it has unplugged itself. It's in the back of the sump IIRC?

   It shows the temperature fine, just on start up when it's supposed to show the level it always shows very low.
