de locked and handled doors querie

ok mrs picked up a proper chav saxo last night, previous owner de locked the doors and de handled them, and installed poppers to the doors from outside. she also did this to the inside of the doors too....pretty sure this is a bad idea as if batt dies how the hell do u get out of car?
she also removed the interior handles, if i put them back in would this interfere with the poppers or are we stuck with the poppers?

advise and knowledge needed rather than comments that are useless please

is there a lock still on the boot lid to gain access????
  3. #3
nope. why i think its a real bad idea to have all these switches and no real means of manually opening doors or boot. not to sure if i can just put original internal door handle on again or weather previous has taken it off for reason?

Cant you have something insalled under the mirrors as like a fail safe like a lever? Im sure iv seen something like that before...

its got buttons on the wing mirrors that pop open the doors on inside and outside. but can i put the door handles back on in the inside instead of the button.

and the lever u mean something like the bonnet release in the car to go on the door somewhere?

to answer one of your questions, if you get locked in the car there is always the window lol, my central locking was playing up and used to lock me inside the car the only way i could get out was to wind the window down and unlock the door with the key then open the door obv you cant do that as you have no locks or handles so she would just have to climb out the window lol

thats that i mean, if there should be a accident it really ain;t safe to have poppers on inside and out. previous owner removed inner door handles which i see as really unsafe. just wanna kind of have peace of mind and put something in that might aid getting out without using electrics.

on another note what does everyone use to run the extra cable off battery to hide underneath incase batt goes flat?

A mate of mine had similar, and one of the solenoids failed. All we did was tie a strap onto the mechanism inside the door - give that a tug and door opens without the need for any electronics.

Could do similar to use as a failsafe?

right had a good old root around today. got both inside and outside poppers working. who ever fitted them took out all insides to the door locking wise, dunno if thats normal or not? did tie a wire to manually unlock but just fell out and into bottom of door once she slammed door
