The last owner of my saxo painted the engine, over the years it's started to peel off a bit and flake, so what sort of paint should i use?

    Thanks Jake

If you mean the rocker cover, take it off, sand it down and then paint it with some hammerite heat resistant paint. Good to see someone else from wem here too

Is it possible to just sand down all the rust and peeling bits off the rocker cover and then polish it? I think painting/spraying looks scruffy when done by a total clutz like me.

What is the raw material like underneath all the rust?

I have just sent off my rocker cover and few other bits to be powdercoated, so you shouldnt get any flaking with powdercoating, I think things like engine parts should be powdercoated so they dont peel etc and theyll look smart. Other things like mirrors, centre console etc i have done by spray cans and they turned out good But thats just my opinion
