1.1box in furio

my driveshafts plus gearbox went sat night i no drive watsoever speedo still reads and it goes into gear but i think im best changing everything.

soo wat driveshafts would work in a 1.1 box coulld i use 1.4 driveshafts are there any diffrences?

and any1 know rougly what price i should look to pay? cheers

Are you sure it's the gearbox and driveshafts?
Driveshafts don't seem to snap until you're running silly power

Driveshafts are about 75 quid each new.. so you should be sure before you order them

You could pick up a 1.1 gearbox for under 50 quid.

Also check the clutch whilst you're at it, because it could be that

well it all happend since sat night it was wet pulled out of a junction... there was a little bit of wheel spinnage.

urm not really but it engages in all gears and the engine runs and speedo and reves still read. clutch always was shit tbf spongey but massive mileage wont help...
it could be clutch but it sounds like something is spinning just not moveing the wheels?

I'm not too clued up on gearboxes

A 1.1 box wont cost much, and it'll make it accelerate quicker.. so just go for it

ive had a 1.1 box on my 1.4 , used the normall 1.4 driveshafts

i think the driveshafts are knakerd off my 1.4 so will need to replace the whole?

It's pretty unlikely that your driveshafts are the reason for you lack of drive.
Did you notice them knocking or grinding before you lost all drive?

If you do get new driveshafts, just be aware that there are two kinds.. tapered and non tapered. There's a guide somewhere i think...
Best bet is get them off eurocarparts, put your reg number in, then it's pretty much guaranteed you'll get the right ones.

As i said though, driveshafts don't just go.. unless you've got a turbo

your probly right boss the drive shafts have been repaced b4

just jacked it up stuck it in gear and the wheels spin freely as they would in neutral soo maybe diff? as driveshafts spin with wheels

if i got 1.1 box woul i need clutch to match or 1.4 do?

You could keep the 1.4 clutch if you're on a budget. If you can afford it, get a new clutch on there whilst the gearbox is off. Worth it for the sake of 80ish quid

The clutch is specific to the engine rather than the gearbox, so you'd have no problems using the existing clutch.
Same with the driveshafts, they'll work fine with the 1.1 box!
There's a thread on here somewhere about fitting 1.1 boxes.. people seem impressed with them!

sorry to bring this back up just wondering what resulsts if people have got any after fitting a 1.1 box picked one up for 60quid 33000 miles so not bad....... just wanting to know hoe myc speed i will lose bear inmind it struggled to do 90 before... privateroad and how quicker will it be accelerating? and mpg?
