Ive just bought a second hand air filter box seeings as i dont have one & when i bought the car it jsut had a filter on there, when i get the standerd box back on whats the best way to make it a bit more peromance then a induction kit? do some people drill a few holes in the box or something? Thanks

drop a green cotton, or k&n panel filter in there and give it a decent feed pipe, rather than the crappy citroen one.

there is an airfeed pipe that goes from the slam panel close to where the bonnet latches..into the airbox, but it's thin and restrictive so replacing with a larger pipe like what you use for an induction kits cold air feed helps a lot

remove all the black piping that comes from the airbox. Then, purchase a better cold air feed and run it from where the black piping was to your chosen location (preferably somewhere that has a good source of cold air).

I ran my cold feed straight down and attached to the bottom of the slam panel. Found this a far better.

Bit too low down for my liking. You dont want to be sucking any water into the engine really...

I don't think engines run very well on water instead of air

mmmmmmm, you may have a point. Didn't really think about this. It's not as if it's just a cold feed leading to a open cone filter, it actually sucks more air in the heavier I am with the throttle. I may need to re think where the cold feed goes.

    Your point.

Looking good. Is that a VTS filter box. ?

Did mine today, tried running it without an air feed for a laugh. Got a class induction noise but obv hot air from engine is sucked in so therefore slower

Cold air feed done, doubt will make a difference tbh. But maybe it will breath a little easier.

Those VTS airboxes are a much better design than the VTR.

Would that be an uprgrade in its own right? bigger filter more surface area for air etc?
