Abs light

How do I get the light out for mot purposes. I've changed the sensor but light is still on. I've now run out time for mot. Is there a fuse to take out to turn the light off for the mot
  2. #2
no. if the a.b.s. aint working the light stays on get a diag
on the prob rather than waste time money

Don't have time to do diag I thought there was a way of getting rid of the light

hi mate,if the car is fitted with ABS it must be working, the light must also be working, the tester will check that,if the light isn't working its also a fail, but you could try using one of the above mothods for getting rid of the light, will just depend on whether or not the tester is on the ball.

So are the abs sensors all that can be causing the fault light
  9. #9
it will most likely be a sensor gone down but could also be the ABS pump, you'll need to get a diagnostic check done and it'll tell you exactly where the fault is.

Would it help if I said it was intermittent
  11. #11
check all your sensor connections/wires etc, could be a loose connection somewhere but a diagnostic check would tell you exactly where the fault is and would save you a lot of time.
  12. #12
Looks like I'll be paying for diag
  13. #13
should cost you around £30 mate
  14. #14
How much should I pay for an abs sensor
  15. #15
Also depends on how strict your mot guy is tbh
  16. #16
i get my diag tests for free lol if you have a garage you go to regular they might do it cheaper or for nothing some garages i've been to will do it for free if they know you will go to them to get the problem fixed
  17. #17
    anyone got an idea
    of price for abs sensor
  18. #18
with this sort of problem id suggest getting it fixed properly tbh but the tape method usually fools the mot testers as it cant really be seen...
other option is to find out which wire does that light on the plugs and crimp in a bullet connector, that way it can be reconnected hassle free for MOT and he will NOT see a bullet connector hehe
