1.1 saxo only doing 20 mpg!!

   hi guys,
   
   i have a problem as my 1.1 saxo is only doing 20 miles to the gallon when i know it should be doing atleast 40mpg. i do have a big bore exhaust and i know that would use alot of petrol but surely not this much, am i wirte in what im saying any help would be great costing alot in petrol

   Try driving slower.

   Should do better than 20mpg even i driven fairly hard and the exhaust shouldn't make much difference, does the car run ok any misfiring or smoke from exhaust etc

   Might be a silly question, when you put the new exhaust on did you move/remove any lambda sensors and not replace them/knock them?
   
   Could be throwing the readings off from the exhaust so the ecu is dumping more fuel to compensate?

    could that be anything to do with the chip and cams??
