fuel gauge

   fuel gauge is not working.. ive changed the sender unit but still no luck!
   
   ii know many people have posted this problem and people have replied by sayin change clocks... but when i put my key in the ignition the needle moves up and down 4 times and then sits just above empty... if the clocks needed replacing would the needle stil do this?
   
   been like this for about 2months now.. really starting to get annoying!
   
   if it is the clocks any one know where best to buy em? iv looked on ebay...but mainly just modified clocks or mk1.. i have a V reg mk2...
   would be very grateful for any help thanks

   Its defo clocks fella,had same problem with mine,go to a scrap yard,picked up some for £30 ,sorted prob out,u need white dials if its mk2!!!!!!!!!!!
