little click when engaging gear

    how do you know when your engine mount is on its knackered?

    I've noticed a click when i engage the clutch and also sometimes when i accelerate & decelerate in lower revs.

    Also noticed my exhaust has started rattling a little again when accelerating etc.

    Any ideas?

    Good chance it could be bottom gearbox mount.

    Yeah sounds like bottom gearbox mount. Have a peer underneath. These are the weekest mount from the three.

    Maybe shedding rubber. Best way is to take it off completely. These one's are easy to remove. Just undo the bolt and slide it out. When the mount is still on the car though, just give the gearbox a wobble to see how much play there is.

    Open bonnet, grap rocker cover ad try to move engine, if it moves back and forth easily then it's shot.

    wasn't handbrake and putting it in reverse some kind of tester?

    Can anyone tell me if the powerflex lower gearbox mount is any good?
