strange question

   ok advice please
   
   picked up mrs new vtr some chav wagoon, under hood is lovely and sound everything else ropey but....... its a mk2 shell and lights, but mk1 engine grey top with dip stick to right i think.
   but on the speedo it only goes to 120mph is that correct as thought all vtr/s go to 145 on dials

   My engine is that layout too mate, someone on here told me that because its an early MK2, its still on the mk1 running gear.
   
   As for the dials, I'm not sure what mine go up to, and its too cold to go outside and check lol.
   If no one has replied by the morning, I'll have a look for you.

   90bhp engine pre 2001 car?

   does not matter if its black or silver you will still be running 90bhp unless its pre 2001 then you will be running 98bhp easy way to tell if its 90 bhp or 98bhp is to look were the dipstick is as for the dials mate i would not even worry out what is says it goes up to you will never hit it lol

   oh not worrying about the spped as such just thought that the 120mph was limited to the 1.1 models, as it makes sourcing plasma dials a pain. and wanted to check cos if the previous owner has slung in a 1.1 dials screen surely the speed of the car would be out as in not give a true reading

   that will be next on list cos i was gonna try that but found prev owner had cut lighter socket and my sat nav don;t run on batts no more. the more i poke around this car the worse it gets
