Important! : Big locking wheel nut problem

  1. #1
Turns out that i have sheered off the pattern inside the locking wheel nut key, and cant remove the wheel nuts bar 1 on the passenger side rear which i somehow managed to remove but the others wont budge. the problem is i need to replace the washer motor for MOT but cant get to it, my road tax has also expired so i cant get my car taxed till the car has passed its MOT either

citroen wanted 50 quid for a new key which would take 3 weeks apparently so that was no good, ive been to about 6 different garages and non of them can get them off, ive been to two welders neither have them can get them off so they are getting drilled out tommorow HOPEFULLY it will work, but has anyone got any ideas before i part with my cash tommorow ? ? ? nothin but fucking trouble this bastard car!!!

oh by the way folks its a standard citroen locking wheel nut set with four half circle shapes on them.. cheers

Ive tried that mate they wont budge, and apparently there is a safety device on them where the top of the nut is tapered in the middle so if its tampered with it snaps off ?!?!??! fuck knows think the only option is to have them drilled out and i wont be suprised if something goes wrong with that tbh lol . . .

try wacking a socket over the nut, then drill thro the side of the socket into the nut, then put something in the hole you drilled, you could use the drill bit or maybe a screwdriver or something like that and then try to undo it with a torx wrench, should work

I had the same problem with my car.
    I bought these:
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Locking-Wheel-...item1e5b186faf

You can get them from halfords.
Just like threaded sockets, work a treat!
Tap them on with a hammer, then twist them on with a bar and the bolt comes free.
Much better than hammering a socket on if the bolt are on really tight.

Just keeping going with a socket and hammer. They should free up eventually.
