Vibrating engine and melted sensor

  1. #1
    I have a Saxo VTS 16v twin cam Mk1.
During the end of a recent rally the engine/car started to vibrate, whether driving or stationary. It also cut out and could only be restarted after about 1 minute.
Further inspection under the bonnet showed a melted sensor ontop the oil filter area (left sensor from front of car)
Any clues/answers from anyone who has had this problem could tell me if the vibration and the sensor are linked would be very welcome!

    Cheers!

Do you know where I can get another mount assembly for the VTS version?
Its different than the single cam version in the haynes manual or anything i can find online? I'd send a photo of the mount if I knew how to on here?! lol

    Cheers
