Wierd idle

   Its been 3 solid whole days without starting up my VTR, started it up today and the revs fluctuated up and down from 1000rpm to about 1700rpm for just over 3 seconds. After this, it idles very normally and drives normally too.
   
   Is this normal due to the cold weather plus the fact it hasnt been fired up for 3 days?

   could be but may also be worth checking the idle air control valve as they can get they can get clogged up, a quick spray with some brake cleaner should sort it out.

   Lets say Ive driven my saxo 25miles to the shops and left it in the car park for 4 hours, it will start and idle properly with no fluctuations. It only fluctuates first thing in the mornings. Maybe its like me and doesnt like cold, rainy mornings?
