engine warning light

    Hi all,
I was wondering if anybody had any advice. about 3 weeks ago the engine warning light came on (the one that looks like an engine). i have taken it to the Citroen garage as it say's in the manual to have this checked out and they said that it came on and will stay on because i have an none Citroen genuine CAT fitted. the CAT was fitted about a year ago when i had to replace the exhaust system for the mot. the car has done no more than 1k miles in that time but the light has only recently came on after letting the fuel get too low and filling up. I tried unplugging the battery to see if that would reset the light but no joy it did however mean i required to input the radio code. the one supplied with the car did not work and the Citroen garage where unable to fix it.

the cars mot is due in 3 weeks so any ideas would be appreciated.

it's annoying mate i know, when i got my car the cat/front pipe on my vtr was blowing so i put an aftermarket cat on and within a week! the EML light came on saying the cat was ageing. to get the car through an MOT you will need to buy a new cat more than likely. If you can try and find a decent second hand 'Genuine' cat as this will last much longer than the patent parts
