Which Engine Oil

   hey guys,
   
   right, im going to be servicing the car tomorow for the 3rd time since owning it.
   
   I have allways used Castrol GTX Magnetec 10w40 oil but im not sure if its times for a change.
   
   One factor in this is price.
   
   I can get 4 litres of the above for £25.99
   
   OR
   
   5 litres of Carlube 10w40 for £11.99.
   
   Now i actually went on the Castrol site and put in my reg, its says the oil they recomend for my car is Castrol EDGE 5w40, although when i put my reg in it said its a VTS which it is not, so how trustworthy that is i dont no.
   
   BUT..
   
   My car is just about to hit 118k so i have been wondering if some of the Castrol GTX High Milage engine oil would be better...
   
   could anyone give any advice here??
   
   Ive already tried asking "Oilman" @ Opie Oils but as can be seen HERE that was a total waste of time!!! (check dates on my posts!)

   Silkolene pro s 5w40 with a Citroen filter

   Can get 4L of Fuchs Supersyn 5W40 for £16.50 from GSF.

   is 5w40 generally the best to go for with the R engine??
