  1. #1
i have got a furio and im after putting my vtr engine into it wot will i neeed to change apart from the engine ???
can i just put the engine in and change the ecu ?
  2. #2
IMO i wouldnt bother mate whats the point in goin up 200cc.... if your guna do it go vts 200cc and extra 8v
  3. #3
its its no harder to fit a vts engine over a vtr engine just costs a little more, but if your gonna do it might as well do it properly lol you'll soon get bored of the vtr power
  4. #4
The only reason would be for insurance issues. a vts engine would put a fair chunk on the premium
  5. #5
im in the same situation mate.... VTR because of insurance but i want a VTS
  6. #6
    Buy a VTR
  7. #7
i just want the vtr lump mate everyone does the vts thing and i want to put the vtr in and do some head work and cams i cant afford vts insurance iv been banned and it cost a bomb to insure a vts

idled perfect, never ran too hot, didnt drink fuel, didnt have any flat spots/ bogs, never missed a spark started on the key every single time , didnt smoke yea id say it did run right to be fair
  14. #14
    a 1400 map on a 1600 engine though?

ive got a vtr engine thats not doing anything its missign a few things tho ie water pump/tensioner/cam belt but i do have these brand new lying around which you can buy, the enigne will need timing up and i think there is one injector clip missing but would cost about 5p to buy lol and a few bolts here and there are missing from when i did my 16v conversion but theres nothing missing that you couldnt take off your furio engine tho i dont want a lot for it

I managed to get a 2003 vtr engine on 38k miles for 120 quid, complete with loom and ecu.
A lot cheaper than a VTS engine

awwww lol nah you'll need the loom as well but a loom doesnt generally go wrong lol took me 5 min to fit my loom as long as you know where everything plugs in which is self explanatory most of the time

I might rebuild the S engine....
I've got the head in bits on my desk at uni.. girls love it

I'm not sure how my parents would react to me changing engines again though...

Also i'll only have a couple of weeks off work over summer.. so i'd probably have to wait until christmas to do any real work... we'll see!

lol that sounds like my mates room hes building a mini basically bolt by bolt, spending a good £20k on it (yes hes loaded) on it and hes got a brand new mini engine in bits lying at the end of his bed lol last year in my uni halls i had my full sound system, a flocked dash (which i ended up selling ), and two sets of lights and a jack lol and yea you could spend a good chunk of time buliding it getting it looking perfect no rush, then fit it somewhere not at home my parents dont know ive changed my engine lol
