Hi everyone, I have a question. I travelled to Cornwall for my Easter weekend. About 4 hours into the journey my partner's vtr started to make a strange noise (we had new brakes fitted 3 months ago). The noise was present at around 80mph but only when she came off the accelerator. It didn't vibrate but did make a noise. (how could you feel the noise on the floor pan if there was no vibration?????) My mom's peugeot 206 cc did this from high speed down to 50mph. I'm pretty sure the brakes need bleeding any help would be great cheers.

#8I get the impression that you feel its a brake related problem but is this noise only there when you let off or when your braking? I doubt bleeding the brakes will resolve this issue.
My advise is take it to a garage and let them have a look. -
#9its not the brakes. having driven for 4 hours at 80 mph you might have melted an exhaust mount or it has just fell off, and now the exhaust is wacking against somethin. it will be rattling that fast it wont feel like a vibration just a noise. try and move the backbox with ya hand, if it feels loose then its probs the problem. it may also be a knackered cat converter, as when you come off the gas the back pressure in the exhaust system can make a noise.

#10yes i've been working with cars since i was 7 and i've assisted in plenty of classic car restorations and overhauls.
but i'd rather not help somebody with that attitude mate.
good luck -
#11sounds like a wheel bearing noise to me?
-
#12Look mate I didn't ask for people to take the piss out of my speling so yes keep your cockey coments to your self .waste of time .
-
#13Not wheel bearing mate nice one tho
-
#14mate i was trying to help you get an answer. People have already thanked me for making it clearer to read. And i'd suggest you check the cv joints and driveshafts now if the wheel bearing is ok. Also sounds daft but check that the wheel bolts all have their washers on them as they can loosen - potentially fatal fault!
Apologies,
Tom -
#15Ok mate Will do cheers
