undo the plug on your oil sump with a spanner or adjustable, oil will drain out via gravitation pull

  11. #11
just applied a load of wd40... tried moving it with a adjustable and a 24mm socket... and nothing it absolutly solid! is it worth going to buy a stump plug tool ??

Its rounding it off more than anything and i dont want to do that... I THINK it moved abit but i tried again and its still stuck! And Im scared incase the car comes off the jack/stands if I pull to hard! lol
  12. #12
in your case I would take it to someone who knows what they are doing.
  13. #13
Make sure you have jack the up good .if you've got spare wheel or tyre put them under incase it does fall off your be ok . Make sure the sockit is the right fit . Get a spanner and a sleg little hammer and hit the spaner at the same time you can see if the nut moves .
  14. #14
As above mate we all have are own ways lol!!!!

ah of course we can, easyier then changing a wheel!

jack car up- support on axle stands
    take off oil cap
    remove sump plug- drain oil
remove old oil filter and fit new one
    wipe sump plug and refit
    fill with oil
    refit oil cap
    return car to the floor

    job done.

Update for all you haters! well yes im not a mechanic.. Im a sprayer... Outside of the car I Know best!

I do know all the basic mechanic things but limited on tools! My manifold snapped the other week... (mk2) and I had a spare mk1 manifold... so I did that ok... that was a bit of a pain in the ass... due to start the job at 6pm!

The only reason I had trouble today is 'cause I havnt got much of my tools... My brothers nicked them to go drag racing...

But Ive been next door, Borrowed a big wrench and a 24mm socket and jobs gooden!

Everything seems fine up to now... just polishing it up now, making the most of the sun!

    Cheers guys!

i'm spraying a morris 1000 as we speak haha just waiting for the clear coat to dry
  26. #26
Nicee! what colour bud?? thats the only thing with the spraying thing.... the waiting game!
  27. #27
it's going from a dull maroon colour to an ivory white. i don't mind the waiting so much it's the sanding down between coats that got on my nerves when i started out!
