Cam bolts ! Need Help peeps !!

    hi there just was cleaning up my new vts and re gasketing the rocker covers as it was leaking slightly when ive noticed one of my cam bolts was missing so i investigated further only to find who ever tightend it before i had it and snapped it flush with the block . i now will have to remove the top cam cover and try sort this prob . anyone know the touque settings for these bolts also the sequence if there is one so it can be done properly this time !!!!
    ontop of that anyone got any good methods etc for gettin this snapped thread out as im goin to be having great fun tryin cheers guys x

    I believe the torque setting for these bolts are Stage 1:-1.5 lbf ft (2Nm) and for Stage 2:-6 lbf ft (8Nm).Once you removed the cam ladder you may see enough shank of the bolt to get it out using molegrips. The worst scenario is that you may have to drill the bolt out and then use a 'easy out' to remove the rest of the bolt. If you decide to drill, then cover all the oil holes up to prevent swarf from getting into the engine.

    spot on for that mate real help i didnt remove all the cam ladder as the left end is in with the cam cover how shall i go about gettin tht off mate will i need to remove the pully ? cheers bud much appriciated

    You may have to take the pulley off, that's if you reckon there may be enough shank on the remaining bolt. However if you don't want to do that and still want to drill it out, then re-position the ladder and hold firm with two or three other bolts. Then very carefully centre punch the broken bolt in the centre of the bolt and use a very sharp drill at slow speed and use plenty of lubricant. Oh and the tightening sequence is starting at the centre 1, 2 then left 3,4 then right 5,6 etc.
