What wheel bolts?

My standard wheel bolts for my VTS wheels look like this:

I've been sent some bolts like the ones below, to be used because i'm putting 16mm spacers on for a brake upgrade, will these be ok because the seating looks different?

I've put the spacers and wheel on and tightended them up and they seem ok, they tighten up etc, but not sure if they are 100%?? Does anyone know??

I have the same bolts in the second picture i had them on vtr wheels with spacers and they were fine.

i've got 8 of them already, i was just concerned because a lot of places that sell them say they are no use for standard wheels, but not sure if thats because they are too long or because they don't sit right?

i noticed today that after i tightened them up and took them off there was a ring around the tapered bit where the wheel was obviously pressed up against, it isnt a lot of contact area for the bolt, whereas the flat ones with washers are far more in contact, the whole washer area is touching the alloy.

but then i suppose as long as it's tight on, should it matter? i know the wheel won't move because it's on the hub or the spacer in my case, as long as the bolts are tight it's ok?

They are incorrect (second picture bolts) for VTR and VTS wheels. They have to be flat seated like they are in the first picture.

    Hope this helps.

the top pic is the same as vtr ones as well, i spent ages looking for new one cos i fuck my locking wheel nuts, found a place in west drayton that done them, i wouldnt put tapered bolts into a rim that is meant to have flat bolts, mite be ok for a little while, but i would get the correct bolts asap to be safe

The potential of cracking the rim is massive when you use a tapered bolt on a non tapered rim. In short, they're totally wrong!

Why not do the wheel bolt conversion/extension using these:

    Then you can use these:

And in theory use as big a spacer as you like, like so:

Failing all else i think these are what you actually need
