What is this and do i need it

   Okay my car is rattling when i accelerate and i believe that this is problem, it is very loose and when i move it with a screw driver it rattles.
   
   
   
   can you please inform me as to what it is, what it does and whether i need it or not, or should i replace it

   exhaust spring, just where the exhaust joins, nip it up

   would it be that , that is causing the rattling when i accelerate, it is a diesel so the engine does vibrate alot lol

   yes i had same problem, nipped it up and it was reet after that. 10mm nut and bolt.

   so what have i got to do, undo the bolt that holds it and put a new one in? sorry about all the questions just the sound annoys the hell out of me

    its my mid-part of my exhaust that is rattling I must of hit it on a speed bump or something and its moved it.
