uneven break pad wear

   why would the back brake pads are on one side down to the metal yet on the otherside have about 3mm
   
   what would cause this as i am not fussed about changing them as its easy
   
   but just want to know what might be the cause

   If it is the pad that sits on the piston (inner pad) then they do wear slightly more than the outer. the piston applys more braking force to that pad

   calliper siezed possibly?
