Am i doing damage by leaving this ?

Well. My problem is i have a balll joint knackered, I can see just behind my drivers side wheel the joint that has the black rubber ring on it, that rubber ring is clearly perished. I dont have any money to get it done at the minute but while i leave it am i doing more damage?.... Its only knocking when i turn left on a bumpy road. On flat surface it doesnt rattle.

Also what causes the wishbones ball joints to go cause ive replaced them once. I never drive like a dick, Is it just the crap road surface round B'ham that causes excess wear ?

well the rubber is there to stop crap getting in and wearing the joint,

the ball joints are a wearing item, and are to be replaced whenn needed so even with nice driving they will wear,

but it its bad and knocking as you say id get it changed, they not expensive, around £12ish. if it fails ur strut will come away and they will be alot worse damage to the car as well as others if you hit them,

Well someone once mentioned that its hard to change them on their own... Something like its easier to replace the whole wishbone.

Maybe I was being fed the bull on that day, How much am i looking to pay for fitting one ?

well unless u have the tools yes,

just whip the wishbone off, take it to a garage and they can easyily press you a new one in. and if you brought the ball joint you might get lucky and they'll press it for free,
