hey guys lookingfor some info

   im totaly new to this so bear with me haha
   Iv just got a saxo vtr 1997 plate 1.6 8v
   its been run ragged by pass owners so im trying to get it running tidy.
   when i hade it there was no oil, no water, and i total mess everwhere e.g thick green fungus covering the metal work of the back seat and boot.
   NICE =/
   It looks abit scruffy on the outside, dents and scuffs in places and some trim coming lose oh yea and a cheap ass petorl cap cover which i ripped off straight away.
   
   but basicaly im just trying to find out some info on
   common problems,tips,ideas on performance,
   anyone selling some parts ;p
   
   
   I'm not looking to mod it to much just tastfuly modify it haha
   
   Any help would be greatful

   I'd put some oil and water in for a start. Does the engine run?

   yea iv done all that haha
   it runs ok but the back box is blowing alil but i was thinking on putting a staright throw on but im not sure yet

   nope im more of vauxhall guy lol
   my 1st saxo
   the only thing im alil worrierd about is the temp gauge runs alil high
   but thats it

   Change the coolant, flush the system, full service.

    yeah i would do a full service, change all filters coolant oil the whole lot, you can never tell what could of happend with it being stood. but changing the oil and coolant should sort out your temp problem
