#2they cant tell if its been decat surley as iv never heard of a copper getitng under your car!
-
#3a decat makes a noticable noise!
anyone who is mechanically minded in that department could tell, esphs with saxo tbh!
yes its illegal... but hard to tell on teh side of the road, unless Vosa pull you.
then your fucked! -
#4I thought as long as your emissions are within the legal amount it didnt matter wether you have a cat or not. So you can pass an MOT without a cat
-
#5some cars might pass without a cat, but since 1992 all cars have had cat in, think it became law then but not sure
-
#6cars registered after about 1990? HAVE to have a cat converter to be roadworthy
-
#7a car from 1993 ONWARDS have to have a car by law.
-
#8Heres a idea, bit of a long shot but couldnt you hollow out a cat and weld it in so it looks like you have a cat, then get a dodgy MOT and the law will be stumpted
-
#9i think thats what most people do tbh!Quote:Heres a idea, bit of a long shot but couldnt you hollow out a cat and weld it in so it looks like you have a cat, then get a dodgy MOT and the law will be stumpted

my Cat has been smashed out lol... but then again i MOT anyway so its not that hard a job to pass lol. -
#10Don't attract the attention of the police...
i.e. driving like a spaz in front of an officer
revving you engine like a spaz in front of an officer
listening to offensively loud music in front of an officer
Then you've got nothing to worry about
sorted. -
#11Its a bit like the third brake light. From 1993 all cars had to leave the factory with a cat.
However, so long as the car passses the MOT emmisions it isn't actually required to have a cat.
But, without one its quite unlikely the emmisions will be within limits. -
#12i fitted a decat to a T reg vtr with 42000 on the clock. When it came to mot time I forgot about it.The car past the mot and nothing was said.
