how should I tighten my Auxiliary belt?

I've searched but to no avail.

My aux belt just started squeeling its little mousey guts out yesterday.
I had a little look under t' bonnet and it's propper loose!

I have a light weight crank and alternator pully kit but cba fitting that just yet, so just want to tighten the belt for now.

Is it easy enough to do?

    Cheers

really easy mate, you will see two bolts at the top, one facing the front of the car and another hidden underneeth the mount on the right , is position car be determind by looking at the left hand side where the other side of it is. loosen the bolt you cant see underneeth then use the one facing the front of the car to tighten the belt then retighten the one you cant see to secure it in place.
    Hope that makes sence?

There are two 13mm bolts attached to the left side of the alternator [looking from the front of the car]. Loosen these, they hold the alternator in place and one is above the other right about the alternator belt area. Once these are loose there is a 5mm [I think] hex bolt that needs to be rotated counter-clockwise which will push the tensioner pulley up into the belt thus tightening it. Then retighten both the 13mm bolts by the belt.

    Bluenotesmiley,

Bang on with your measurements fella. Unfortunately the 5mm Allen drive on the bottom that pushes the pulley up seems to have sheared or something. :-(
I loosened the bolt just above it and pushed the pulley up but still can't stop the squeek! Aaarrrggghhh!

Pop to the scrappies and see if you can source a new bolt. Is the head of the bolt or anything still there?

Yeah the head is still there. (the 5mm Allen drive). But it just spinns freely and I can push it up and down with my fingers! :/
