#2Some one must be able to help?
-
#3you could do more than one coat of paint. i did mine without sanding and it came out fine
-
#4you can do it without but its not advisable because eventually the paint will start to flake off
-
#5its not worth not sanding as youll have to do it again not long after. if its worth doing, do it right....
-
#6what should i used to sand it?
-
#7sandpaper
lmao
-
#8went and dry sand paper. start with rough grade then use a finer grade to get rid of the scratches
-
#9rough grade? finger grade? can you post a link of each from ebay here please. i have no idea what they are
-
#11haha well u wont need a rough grade one as it will cut to deep, go for one thats not rough, u only really need to get rid of the tiny bumps,
-
#13just get a pack of sandpaper with the different grades from helfrauds, plastc primer. gloss black paint and lacquer (lots of it). clean it properly and dont rush it to get it back on the car take your time with it.1 user thanked this post:

#14I'd start by masking off all surrounding areas pretty well to avoid any scratching and paint overspray.
Then sand with a grade 600 Wet & Dry paper.
Finish with a 1200 Wet & Dry paper to give a smoother finish.
Coat of primer. Leave 30 minutes.
Quick once over with 1200 wet & dry

#15im in the process of doing mine, its more time consuming but worth it as sanding them down gets rid of imperfections and give the primer a key so it doesnt flake off after 10 miles
-
#16halfrauds do there own wet and dry mixed packs for a few quid, pretty good stuff.
-
#17"If your going to do it, do it right" It will save you having to redo and end up being more work if you try and bodge it first time round!
Follow what saxo-sx said, very good instructions mate

#18The best way of doing it is.......have a bodyshop do them......the results will be better and the paint will be baked on.
-
#19i did mine and digged out a heater from the attic (not one of those blow things) .. one that lights up orange and baked it on that way .. worked a treat !

Yeh, I dont have a Saxo so I dont know if the bump strips are easily removed. If they are then I'd definately take them off. -
#22I think im going to save up some money and take it to a body shop then
-
#23dont let anyone put you off doing it yourself, i always find it more rewarding doing something good myself, and that i have done it right. the bumptstrips are easy to get off and put back on and the painting process is timetaking but pretty easy.
-
#24but it terrible at DIY, rather got it done properly and lasted instead of needing doing every month or so.
