How do I remove valves?

   Anybody know how to remove exhaust and inlet valves from a vts head?

   u need a valve spring compressor , you use tht to compress the valve spring and clamp down then whilst its clamped u remove the cullets on the valves stem and slowly release the valve compressor and voila !
   make sure u line up what went were as they should all go back in the same port they came from with same springs

   Or if you dont want to wait until the valve spring compressor arrives get a socket that will go on the top of the spring but not to close to the centre and hit it with a hammer. This should release the collets/cullets but just make sure you keep an eye on where they go
   
   Not the correct way to do it but definately the quickest

   thanks thought tht was how to do it was ust checking might go buy a valve conpressor in morning, if not try it with the socket haha, tbh i dont need to keep them all in order as am buying new one,... i think haha, will keep em in order just incase i dont though.
   
   ifyour a mechanic you shoud no tht if your rebuilding a head a diagnostic machine wud be no use at all reali.

   I would suggest drawing your head and numbers of the valves on some cardboard, then punching the valves through that to keep them organised

   And, I've stripped two 16v heads mate. No previous experience. It's really easy. Once you've done one valve you'll fly through them.
   
   Use some sort of plunger sucker thing to remove the hydraulic tappets

   i havetook the hydraulic tappets out, managed to pull them out with my fingers lol. just getting the rest out am bit stuck on, will go try the socket method now

    Get a spring compressor - using a hammer to remove valves is just asking for trouble.
    
    Collets aren't cheap new
