#2mk2 spoilers are connected through holes in the back window, if you don't have these in yours its either the risky option of drilling your glass, or attaching with tigerseal
-
#3or if you had some cash, you can just get a mk2 new rear window with holes
-
#4where can i get a new mk2 rear window with holes ?
-
#5i would just buy a whole new bootlid from a mk2 vtr would be alot easier and probably cheaper aswell
-
#7ok thanks, is it possible to bond the spoiler on with tigerseal or sumthing simular ?
-
#8ye it can be but once on tape the spoiler down for about 24-36 hours and don't use the car for that time
-
#10ok yeah i know what u meen ir have a think about it thanks for the advise
-
#11Or you can do what i did get a bigger spoiler say one of an evo and drill it to the boot lol
-
#12my spoiler on my mk 2 1.1 is tigersealed on and the tigerseal is hardly noticable at all unless you are actually looking for it. the only time is really obvious is when the boot is up.Quote:it would be but youll be able to see all the horrible stuff through your back window and would look like a bit of a bodge which is never good come resale time
imo i'd just tigerseal it on mate as its cheap and will do the job just as good as any other method (unless you plan on removing it or something like that lol) -
#13+1 to the above its how mines stuck on and not one problem!Quote:my spoiler on my mk 2 1.1 is tigersealed on and the tigerseal is hardly noticable at all unless you are actually looking for it. the only time is really obvious is when the boot is up.

#14ok cheers have you stuck the tigerseal onto the rubber pads on the spoiler yeah and then onto the window ? cheers

#15this is what i did:
- wipe the window with some white spirit or something to clean it first, then cover the part of the spoiler that will be in contact with tigerseal.
- put the spoiler in place then wipe away any excess tigerseal that leaks out from under the spoiler with a paper towel.
- while holding the spoiler in place, use as much masking tape as you want to make sure the spoiler stays in place while the tigerseal dries. (to help keep the spoiler in place, as well as masking tape i used some rope to hold my boot half open so the rear window was parallel to the ground).
it may be easier to get someone to help you tape the spoiler while you hold it as it can be a bit awkward if not.
hope that helps
