A few problems. Want a better idea of what they could be.

My car is going back to the garage tomorrow as its still under warranty. Has a few problems with it, and I have a vague idea what could be wrong, but just want to have a clearer idea of what to say needs fixing.

    1) I get a loud noise from the wheel when turning mainly to the left, but sometimes it does happen when turning right. I know this could either be the wheel bearing or the driveshaft. Is there anything else it could be/is more likely to be?

    2) When accelrating, I get a vibration/grinding noise when hitting about 2000/3000 revs. Lasts for about a second. Doesnt occur when sitting at a steady speed.

    3) When turning the wheel to the far left of right when moving at a slow speed or stationary, I sometimes get a loud knock and the steering jolts a little in the direction Im turning.

    Any help much appreciated.

cv joints or / and wheel bearings
  3. #3
    1. Driveshaft (wheel bearings tend to quieten down when turning in my experience)
    2.exhaust
3.i sometimes get this, but its because i didnt tighten the nut that holds the damper in the strut properly, however it can be caused by a snapped/unseated spring or dodgy strut top bearings. also check steering rack/track rods and also bottom ball joint for play

For 2 I would hazard a guess at your thrust bearing??
