266mm very quick question

   all i need to know is will my standard vtr brake hoses be suitable if i fit some 206 gti 266mm front calipers? also is it worth my money buying mintex m1144 pads or should i just stick to standard the car is only going to be used on the road

   I would have thought so, the nipple can't be too much further away than standard. And concerning the pads, fast road pads is as good as i would go for the road. Track pads will not work well from cold and will be too aggressive.

   Pipes will fit the calipers, and as for pads get standard mintex pads as they are good enough for what you require.

   cheers lads, i was gonna get braided hoses and mintex m1144 pads but i think the braided hoses would be a bit of an over kill for my car also i was told the m1144 pads work well from cold? i thought they were the fast road pads and the m1155 are the track pads which dont work from cold

   The normal hoses will fit fine. For normal use, you're not really going to notice any difference with braided hoses to be fair.
   
   M1144's work fine from cold.

   cheers so the braided hoses are out the window then which is probably good for me, its been an expensive month! lol so i gotta decide weather i want some oem ebay pads, oem mintex pads, or the m1144 :s choice choices!

   i have 1144's combined with the gti180 set up, but its overkill tbh. just go for standard mintex pads and you will be amazed how good they are over the standard saxo brakes.

    i used m1144s on standard vtr brakes and felt they were fine for fast road tbh. i imagine theyd be great in 266mm

    cheers guys i think ill have a look at the standard mintex compared to the m1144's then make my decision, if any one has a link to any sites that sell 1144 206 gti front pads and vtr rear pads then let me know

    i had to change hoses as mine pulled a lil so would have failed mot, got some off swampy for good price.
