    can anyone help have got a w reg saxo with a std exhaust my brother in law has just brought a p reg saxo which has a powerflow exhaust running from the manafold to the back but theres no cat looking at mine the cats there so if i fit this to mine what are the rules on having a cat hope somone can help as im a bit stuck thank you

    you have to have a cat to pass the mot? im pretty sure that if you get caught without one you get a fine? but no doubt someone on here will say different

    if youve got a mk2 your cat is in the manifold?

    thanks im going to have to look in to this a bit more do you know were the cat is on a mk 1

    Yes, but in this case, the vehicle was manufactured in June 2000(W reg) therefor the cat is still under the car.
    Anything manufactured Before September 2000 still had the cat under the car, so even though its a MK2 by eye, mechanically its still a MK1(as far as the cat is concerned, unsure about other mechanical bits however)
    This is the case with my furio, so i assume its the same for a VTR or any saxo for that matter.

    so i have a mk 2 shell and a mk1 body going to make parts cheap lol so my brother in laws exhaust should fit nice then ??
