Furio Replacement Engine?

  1. #1
    Hey,

I'm looking at buying a replacement engine for my furio, found one on ebay not far away from me

The engine in itself looks fine, the guy selling is willing to demonstrate it running before he takes it out while you wait. but my only worry is the car he's taken it from has a vtr interior. It has aftermarket alloys and is being scrapped for parts

Is there a way to check i'm not just buying a vtr engine? even though I know it's not very likely. I don't have the cars registration number

I know the engine code is TU3JP, tag number KFW. How can I check this as well?

(Also, does anybody know if the furio came with the vtr interior as an optional extra? I know it can come with a blue/black or a red/black interior as well as the standard greeny yellowy one)

    Thanks alot

Should be a tag on the Cambelt cover I think.. or have a look on the cast of the block or the head sometimes on there as part of the cast.

A VTR engine will fit your car just as easily as a furio engine btw just need the ECU unlocked which the guy can do and unplug your imob box.

    Oh right thanks alot mate

I need a furio one though for insurance purposes, with a claim at 18 they arent too willing to insure me on a saxo, even on a 1.4, so you can imagine their view on modifying
