the other day my car cut out on me as if it wasnt getting any petrol at 1st i tought it was the petrol pump but now i no that the spark plugs arent sparking and also theres no power getting to the coilpack (think its called the coilpack. its where the leads are coming from that connect to the spark plugs) it looks like it may be electrical? does anyone know what this could be?
Car wont start! cant find problem ? ?

#1
-
#2also its a mk1 vtr blacktop
-
#3no lights on the dash?
presume the battery is in good nic?
checked for any fuse's -
#4no this is more then a fuse problem. yep the car will switch on but it just wont turn over. no weird lights coming on everything looks normal. and yea battery is fine it just cut out on me whenever i was driving and it wouldnt start since.
should my inside fan be able to work without the engine being on? because it doesnt work unless the car is turned on but its also being like that -
#5no the fan works when the engines on mate , could be something like ur ecu playin up possibly ?
-
#6or your alternator may have gone thus not charging ur bat and the car would of had to drained power from the battery to run ur sparks but obviosuly it couldnt do it all the way
-
#7it got checked on a computer and it was said that theres a broking wire somewhere and also that theres a flaut with the inside fan. but it was working fine last time the car was running. was thinking maybe its some sort of relay thats gone?
-
#8could be ecu
-
#9but it was find 1 minute then it just started to cut out on me as if she wasnt getting petrol
-
#10possibly crank sensor. My bro's furio worked one day then wouldn't start the next. I checked the crank sensor and it had a hairline crack in it. Fitted a new one and it fired up first time
-
#11id go with tht its a place to start ^^^^
-
#12the computer showed that there was a crack or brake in a wire? and it also showed that there was a flaut with the inside fan which was fine before the car broke down
-
#13Reset your relays mate (red button next to your small fuse box, passenger side, under bonnet). Could be an easy fix.
-
#14il try it but i doubt it will do anything theres a mechanic looking at it the last 2 days so am sure its more then that
-
#15was going to suggest crank sensor
-
#16where abouts is that?
its probably the simplest thing ever
-
#17Its on the top front of the gearbox, you can see it with the bonnet up,
Look over the engine on the front top of the gearbox i a black longish looking thing that is your crank sensor has one plug coming out of it and 2 bolts iirc
let me know if you have any problems i shall get a pic or something... -
#18mine is doing the exact same mate iv been told its the immobiliser its been off the road for over a week now poor boy
