Gearbox and driveshaft

I currently have a mk2 (98bhp) VTR engine, gearbox and driveshaft but need a new gearbox as mine is going. Will a VTS/gti/1.1 gearbox be a straight bolt on with my existing driveshaft?

Yes you can use any other saxo/106 gearbox you like as long as its from a manual, petrol. All driveshafts fit all boxes and all gearboxes literally 'bolt on'. If you can i would just get the right one for the car (VTR). I know for a fact that the 1.1 boxes make them go like a missile but they also grill a clutch in about 3 months and the internals are incredibly week and will not with stand the power for very long. VTR.

Yeah you can use any box but some boxes will change the ratio. For a VTR just use the standard box if you can, get another one from a scrappy.

5trudd3rs, the ratios on a 1.1 and a vtr box are exactly the same btw apart from the final drive which is longer on the 1.1, so it wont make it go like a 'missile' atall

thanks. ive also heard rumours about weaker internals on a 1.1 box but not sure myself.
