pedals really close together?

  1. #1
    Hi Ppl,

Purchased me sax a while back but always wondered why my pedals are really close together?

With my work boots on i could press the clutch and brake at the same time with one foot?
Is there a way to seperate them away from eachother or re-position them?

Any help would be great, thanks!

It certainly wakes you up when you hit the brakes and catch the accelerator pedal at the same time.

I have no problems in my work boots, going out boots or rigger boots lol with my size 12 feet.

People also say they have problems with DC's and Etnies and other generic skater shoe but still I have no problem lol. Maybe I just have heightened foot awareness skills

The only option would be a aftermarket pedal box, but that is big money. Pretty lush, but big money

I discovered this 3 years ago with my 106 on the way to work with my steel boots on, was going onto a round about and though "i have no brakes shit!" then realised i was still acelerating! tried to learn to not do it but still to this day struggle in the saxo so i just wear trainers for work instead lol. I would also go to brake and dip the clutch........... my dad warned me about the pedals being close before i got the 106 but i ignored him as normal.

I have never had a problem with the close pedals in either of mine, even with steel toes on...

    You get used to it.

I've pressed the brake and accelerator at the same time when i first wore boots. Now I have no problems at all. I nearly sharted the first time I done it lol.

in the sax i couldnt drive with my shox on because they were dead wide. courts and air max were fine though.
corsas good though, loads of room so you never hit 2 pedals at once

same as but nowiv managed to get the nack! i find i always scuff edge of my right trainer on the clutch pedal tho and i only got small feet !

Remove accelerator pedal and put s light bend in it, not lots just a bit - replace. Cant help with clutch/brake clearence issues though unfortunately

I have small feet and find my work steelies or Cat boots a pain to drive in. I've found that Converse All-Star are the best for driving in.

the brake and throttle are closer together than the brake and clutch, this is because the car was made especially for the saxmax championships, back in 1998 the championships started, after giving enough time to build, prepare and test the cars for the standard run car set. the reason there close together is so that heel and toe could be easier without the teams having to spend money on a pedal set. therefore saving running and season costs, and keeping the ability levels similar, making it a close championship, which it is.

but the down side is we all have to live with it haha, I don't mind it imo, but everyone to their own
