Rev Problem

   I'm having this strange problem with my VTR, when i put my foot to the floor my car will just rev really hard without gaining much speed...
   Im no expert on cars as this is my 1st car but is this normal??
   
   Any advice will be a great help

   Its normal when the clutch is shagged

   oh dear well atleast it isnt a huge engine problem which i thought it might of been!

   Yup your clutch is slipping causing your revs to shoot up. New clutch and jobs a good 'un.
