Head gasket problem

  1. #1
Right so I have no clue about engines as you will gather from my post, bought my saxo in around January this year, as I have a pretty useless father it took him 3 months to give it the once over when it started leaking oil, he took a look at it and hes told me my head gasket has gone which i'm guessing was like it when I bought it

Haven't drove the car since march when I found out just deciding whether I should get it fixed or try and sell it but I really don't wanna lose out on what I paid for it

Any help would really be appreciated

fix it, not that hard of a job if you got the tools and put your brain into it. I did mine, i worked on it till 5 in the morning then went to work at 7 lol then got home and fitted the cambelt n winner it was done.

tbh if you've no clue on cars i wouldnt reccomend doing it yourself. but theres always a leaning curve to come from it if you do decide to that..

there is some stuff called ' k seal ' and its got copper fibre in it and all ya do is put it in ya water system then it flows around your engine and like helps repair it if its not to bad i did it with mine its like a 75ml blue bottle and its around 20 quid you dont get much but it works mint mate its worth a try its better than paying out 300 quid for labour on a new one .. leave your engine running while you put it in leave in for 5 or 10 min mate ,
    hope this helps pal

f*** off jay you've just basically said what i just told you haha ..
but ye mate i've done the same i used k seal you can only get it in certain places also when you put the k seal into your car give it a few revs a couple of minutes after you've put it in so it properly circulates round your engine then turn engine off after you've done that so its kept in the system leave about 30 min tops then it should be ok .. but like jay said its worth a try because its better than payin out 300 an odd quid for a new one with labour
    hope it helps mate
