Front Brake disc wear

   Hi Guys,
   Does any one know the minimum thickness of front brake discs on a vtr 1.6 52 plate?

   Really mate you need a micrometer to read thickness of discs.
   But if they have a edge or grove on them they need changing there not that expensive with them being your breaks well worth changing.

   Cheers mate,
   Have cleaned all the corrosion off the edge of the disc and measured 17 , 18mm. Inner face seems thin. Had new brake pads fitted 18,000 miles ago ,they have cracked and broken away from the metal backing plate of the pad. Just wonder if its because the discs are now too thin and cant distribute the heat very well. The brake pads are free sliding in the carriers and the brake caliper pistons are free not seized. This is the only thing i could think off apart from my driving!!!. Not sure but think new discs measure 20.5mm?.

   New discs every other pad change is usually a safe bet.
   
   New discs are 20.4mm
   Minimum thickness is 18.4mm
