Important! : whining noice

   hi, i was driving along the motorway earlier and when i came off it theres a constant swirly whiney sound coming from the left front side, and theres also a shit grinding noice when i let the clutch out or just coast it in gear.
   
   any ideas???

   I have the whine too.. sounds like a turbo but only does it when the CD player is on lol

   gearbox,wheel bearing,driveshaft could be anything hard to tell without hearing noise

   alternator. i know not saxos but when both my corsas alternator went it was the same noise like a turbo widing up.

   i have same problem what stops it for me temporaraly is a bit of cv grease on my drive at the gearbox end and re grease up the cv joint. but i also have a front brake binding slightly due to the caliper piston not working rite and that also makes a wirling noise... major pain in my arse

    i have this problem as well its always around 3 k revs and when im changing gear its really wierd i recently replaced my driveshaft and havent filled up the gear box oil that leeked this has been suggested to me ??

    if the gear change is clunky or grindy replace the gearbox oil you leaked out as that happend to me when i changed my driveshafts to brand new ones and i still get the whinning noise. my local garage says it could be where the cv joint is behind the wheel wearing down as this is a common problem with saxos so im gonna change them both with nice new ones and see how it go's

    Could be a lot of things. Clutch release bearing is an extremely common problem.
    
    If you park the car up and leave it in neutral with the clutch up is the noise there?
    
    If you then put the clutch down does the noise disappear/change?

    no just wen i get to about three thousend revs and when i change gear sounds like the cheapest turbo ever :L

    scrap that there is a noise when its just in Nutral actully its really wierd

    thats another thing iv hurd ?? or the belt might be to tight if the bearings have gone then it will be a new alternator right ? how do i no for sure if it is the bearings dont wanna go and get one and then find out its not that ! lol

    I dident recplace my drive sharft to long ago ?
