Why would the pad in the inside of the disc be wearing much much quicker that the one on the outside

#2because the inside pad has the piston pushing against it. It should make a huge amount of difference though. If it is then something is possible not right.

#3Your caliper sliders are gummed up/seized so the pressure is not being distributed evenly.
Clean and grease them up, taking care not to rip any seals as you do so. -
#4As above. But no matter how good condition they are in i find they still wear unevenly a little bit.
