Key Fob FAIL

  1. #1
Basically, my fob was intermittent in locking so i decided to change the battery as per a guide on here..

Then i tried every combo available and the fob stopped working :\

    Massive ANNOYANCE!

I basically need to know what type of routes i can go down:

*New fob and battery and circuit and being re-coded etc
*Someone to take a look for me
*ANYTHING else to save me going mad!

    MANY Thanks

check the contacts are working properly from the battery to the circuit board. Mine was intermitant when i changed the battery and didnt work at all to start with. I got a new piece of metal that the battery sits in and it worked fine

As said, make sure the terminals on the battery aren't bent out of place. Also have you tried unlocking the car with the key and then pressing the lock button within 10 seconds? Might be coincidence but that worked for me

i went to my local car stereo installer that also repair and he fixed mine for £30 wasn;t transmitting properly tons cheaper than citroen

Where can you get the metal that the battery sits in? I need a new one as the tines have broken (after trying get a better contact) that touch the plates on the chip so it is U/s at the moment

I have tried bending the metal upwards now to make sure they definately contact with the gold plate so there is a connection there, will see what happens with that but will have to program it back in first unlocking the car door with the key, taking the key out (i imagine) and then pressing the big lock button twice..

I have tried every other combo on the lockpad, maybe it was the metal not contacting correctly..i HOPE!

Anything else it could be, roll on 5pm just to see! Anything else i can do?

    Cheers

Your best bet is buying a used complete one off ebay and swapping the chip over into the new one. Watch out when buying fobs off ebay though as alot of them are just the plastic casing without the internal parts.
